Kisspeptin

Kisspeptin-10 is a 10-amino acid neuropeptide derived from the KISS1 gene product and is a potent endogenous activator of GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone) neurons. It plays a central regulatory role in the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal (HPG) axis, influencing LH and FSH secretion patterns.

Research has investigated Kisspeptin for its role in reproductive hormone signalling, puberty onset mechanisms, and fertility models. Beyond reproductive biology, emerging research has linked kisspeptin signalling to metabolic regulation, energy homeostasis, and appetite modulation, positioning it as a multi-system research tool.
